BATTERY TESTING AND RECYCLING ENGINEER (CZ)

Job Description:

  • Design, define methodologies and execute testing protocols to assess the performance, safety, and lifespan of Li-ion batteries, including capacity, voltage, cycling behavior, temperature sensitivity, and more.
  • Execute the development and implementation of the battery recycling center and its processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices.
  • Research, optimize and assess various recycling technologies and techniques for Li-ion batteries, including physical, chemical, and mechanical methods, to identify the most effective and efficient approaches.
  • Collaborate with recycling partners and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable battery recycling practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety guidelines and best practices during battery testing and recycling operations.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for sales regarding battery systems, offering guidance, support, and solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Travel to customer sites and actively engage in face-to-face meetings to understand their applications, provide technical consultations, and gather feedback on battery system performance

We Require:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced knowledge of battery technology is preferred.
  • Fluent English
  • Work location Czech Republic with travel requirements within Europe
  • Proven experience in battery recycling, testing and evaluation, preferably in the Li-ion battery industry. Experience with automotive battery systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant recycling and testing standards and regulations in the battery industry, such as R2, ISO 14001, UN38.3, IEC 62133, and ISO 12405.
  • Experience in designing and executing battery tests using various equipment and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of battery recycling processes, technologies, and environmental regulations related to battery recycling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex recycling challenges and interpret test data and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Proficiency in using software tools for data analysis and presentation
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present technical information to stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
